Ship & Crown North Esplanade, St Peter Port (01481
721368)
The Ship & Crown is a great
traditional pub that tends to be busy throughout the day
with both locals and tourists alike. The pub has great views
across St Peter Port harbour, especially on a clear day. The
menu features all the pub grub classics from beef and
Guinness pie to scampi and chips as well as sandwiches,
toasties and salads.
Fleur
du Jardin Kings Mill, Castel (01481 57996)
The quaint 15th century Fleur
de Jardin Hotel is a very popular hotel on the island and
also boasts a great bar. There’s a good atmosphere set off
by the low oak beams and in winter the roaring log fires.
Being a hotel the food served both lunchtime and evening is
particularly good too.
Cock & Bull 2 Lower Hautville, St Peter Port (01481
722660)
Slightly off the beaten track the Cock
& Bull still manages to remain a highly popular
establishment. There’s an excellent range of real ales
including local brews and cider in the summer.
Drunken Duck Charotterie (01481725045)
The Drunken Duck is a small and cosy pub
that’s always full on quiz nights and when there’s live
music playing. Bar snacks are available in the evening but
it’s the real ale that attracts the regulars.
